Jamila Saidi leads the Digital Commerce division at the UK’s Department for International Trade and is responsible for supporting businesses in achieving their international growth ambitions through digital routes to market.
Her team provides companies from across a variety of sectors with the advice, support and tools they need to attain export or inward investment success. She also oversees the department’s Digital Exporting Programme designed to support SMEs export to new markets via cross-border ecommerce.
Jamila is a business development professional with over 20 years’ experience across a range of industries, including financial services, retail and luxury, creative services, oil & gas, automotive and advanced manufacturing. Prior to joining the DIT, Jamila held various roles in financial and professional service institutions including Lloyds Banking Group, Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management and Grant Thornton.
She is passionate about galvanising brands to export their goods and services, and champions digital trade as a means of broadening the opportunities for SMEs to ‘go global’ in the digital age.
